Accra, Ghana, 9 Feb. 2006 —Ghana International Airlines (GIA), Ghana’s new National Carrier has chalked up its 100th successful flight from Accra to London Gatwick. The airline currently operates a convenient and popular daily non-stop service in the market.

The carrier is also proud to announce that it achieved an unprecedented 100% on-time record for arrivals at London Gatwick in January 2006. Every single GIA flight during the month of January landed at London Gatwick either on-time or early, allowing the airline to claim the top position for punctuality from among the hundreds of worldwide airlines operating into the UK.

GIA commenced its daily flights into London Gatwick in October 2005 and has quickly established a reputation for fantastic value and on-time performance. The airline has transported over 12000 satisfied passengers since its inception, treating them to a product that combines traditional Ghanaian hospitality with modern safety and performance standards.

The traveling public in a number of West African cities will also soon be able to sample GIA’s services. GIA plans to open routes to a number of major African cities, starting around Easter.

The addition of West African destinations to GIA’s Accra London route is part of the airline’s vision of making Ghana the West African hub. “The Hub will give the West Africa traveling public better routes to their destinations via our safe and on time flights,” said Presbury.
